Freds Pass Rural Show
The Freds Pass Rural Show has run every year for 39 years except for 2013 when there was a change in management. Our enthusiastic show committee aims to continually build, develop and promote this rural event which attracts more than 30,000 people over the two day period.
The show began as an Apex run fete for the Howard Springs Primary School and was run under an independent committee until 2006 when the Freds Pass Reserve Board took over management of the event. 2014 marked the return to an independently run event steered by a incorporated committee of passionate locals who did not want this vital community event to fade away when the Reserve elected to no longer stage the event.
The Freds Pass Rural Show is a complete rural show with equestrian events, livestock judging, an exhibition hall, wood chopping exhibition, animal nursery and side show alley.
Our popular Paddock to Plate marquee is a dedicated space where we invite local producers to offer tastings and talk about how their product is made. We also invite chefs to stage cooking demonstrations using some of the local produce on offer.
Children are not forgotten as free children's activities run on both days of the show, and our Outback Track bags provide fun and goodies as kids search for the participating site holders to collect the give-aways.
Saturday and Sunday feature exciting entertainment acts focusing on utilising local talent wherever possible. We also stage the long running Talent Quest and NT Rural Achiever Awards. On Saturday night everyone gathers for a spectacular fireworks display, and then party on to great live entertainment under the stars.
See you there!
